When Mars enters Taurus, the slowdown in the energy is almost a relief after the high-level activity of the Mars in Aries period that precedes it.
By the end of Mars in Taurus, you’re probably getting tired of feeling sluggish, tired of being patient, and ready for Mars to move into Gemini and get things moving and circulating again. Stubborn attitudes may be a stumbling block, especially on days when Mars is under stress (☂☂ days).
Mars in Taurus at Work
Mars in Taurus slows everything way down, shifts focus to the practical and promotes financial activity– income as well as expenses. Over the next 2 months, you’ll take the new projects and plans you generated while Mars was in Aries in May and June… and begin to bring those ideas into form.
Mars in Taurus in Love
There’s a tendency to express anger indirectly instead of head-on whenever Mars is in one of the Venus-ruled signs. Mars in Taurus amplifies the fixed signs’ tendency to hold it all in until it explodes. I’m talking to you, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
Taurus influences the personal bank account, already under a lot of strain due to Putin’s power and land-grab in Ukraine.
Mars in Taurus and your Health
You may experience a palpable drop in physical energy as Mars enters Taurus. Metabolism, digestion, and other physiological processes proceed more slowly.
Every sign in the Zodiac influences a part of the body. Mars brings inflammation and potential for injury to the Taurus area. This is everything between the lower jaw and the collarbone: neck, brain stem, throat, larynx, upper trachea, thyroid. Bundle up with your favorite scarf to keep your neck and throat warm.
On Mars’ stress days (double ☂☂ days), play it safe; don’t push beyond your limits. Mars in Taurus is a weak point in the Mars cycle for you if you were born with Mars in Scorpio.
Key dates
- July 5, 2022 – Mars enters Taurus

- ☂☂ July 28 – August 1 – Mars conjunct Uranus and North Node
- ☂☂ August 1 – 7 – Mars square Saturn – Mars “translates the light” of Saturn square Uranus
- ☆☆ August 8-11 – Mars sextile Neptune
- ☆☆ August 12-14 – Mars trine Pluto
- August 20 – Mars enters Gemini
☂ Heads up! July 18-20
As Mars semisquares Neptune, confusion, spaciness, missing information, infection, sensitivities, allergies, toxins and dehydration can complicate our plans and create obstacles to moving forward.
☂☂ Heads up! July 28 – August 7
Mars conjunct Uranus/Node, Mars square Saturn in Aquarius
The end of June, although exciting, will be a lot to handle and may leave our circuits blown. In addition, it taps into a bit of history. Last year Saturn held onto a tense square with Uranus, a pairing that rocked our foundation in shock waves that are still being felt today. As Mars connects with Uranus and the North Node, expect surprises, scandals, breakups, and breakdowns of a similar ilk as we experienced all through 2021. Mars stirs the pot around this tense and unpredictable square. Impatience, irritation, and stubborn attitudes may present obstacles to moving forward at this time. Manage your expectations, and keep your plans simple!
☆☆ Heads up! August 8-11
Mars sextile Neptune in Pisces
Here’s an opportunity to let your hair down a little and get creative. Act on intuition, look for answers and inspiration from spirit. Unsure of your next step? Tune in to your guides, draw a few cards, meditate on it, or do an interpretive dance or another flowy activity to free up your mind, so that you can see the way forward and take action– because more good vibes are just ahead.
☆☆ Heads up! August 11-14
Mars joins forces with Pluto and opens a door, removing obstacles that stand in the way of a deep-down letting go. It’s time for transformation, healing, and forgiveness.

Hi Molly,
Thanks for putting together this post!
I’m learning more about astrology and – as someone with Mars in Scorpio – I’m curious what you mean by this cycle being a “weak point.”
Does this just mean I’ll have low energy or that I can expect more of a struggle on Mars’s stress days?
Thanks for your comment, Lindsey! I think it’s probably both. If you think of transiting Mars as a source of strength and your birth chart Mars as your strength, that source is as far away from you as it can possibly get. The vital energy barometer is a bit low– which may not even register on your awareness if you are very healthy. But if you are “on the bubble” health-wise then you may feel fatigued or manifest other signs of your resistance being low.
Hi, I have Mars in Taurus. Sun in Taurus, Moon in Pisces.
Will this affect me?
Hi Molly
I have Mars in Taurus (pisces sun, virgo moon leo asc) so will things be ok and will they pick up after 3rd March please?
Hi Susan! Thanks for leaving your comment. I don’t have your whole chart, and nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. But no Mars transit is forever. Mars does this every 2 years– so you have already been through it many times. Just mark your calendar with my Heads-up dates and be a little extra careful during those times. Be well!
Hi Susan – yes typically Mars in the same sign as your birth Mars is a high point in your energy cycle. You should feel stronger and have a higher level of resistance to stress and fatigue.
Hi, thanks for the information. I have a question. With Mars in Scorpio in my chart what do you recommend I do during this period while Mars transits Taurus. I have Sun in Taurus and Moon in Taurus and Mercury in Taurus plus Saturn in Taurus with Venus close by in Aries. Thanks!
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for leaving your comment. Some ideas: protect your neck and throat. Your energy levels and/or hormone balance may feel off due to thyroid issues. Scorpio rules the colon, the largest organ of detoxification. Both Scorpio and Taurus are “fixed” signs that tend to get blocked up. Recirculating toxins and toxic metabolites are another root cause to consider if you’re having a flare-up of pain or other symptoms during this time. Be well and safe- Molly
