The week starts on a hot, sour note as Mars squares Chiron, exact on Tuesday the 13th. You may feel inflamed in your body, mind, emotions, or spirit as the planet of action squares off with the wounded healer in the sign of identity. Mars in Capricorn would rather not get bogged down in competition or argument, but putting some self-care on the agenda sounds like prudent work this week as this transit may tend to drain our energies and bring up our aches and pains. Mars’ impatience may tempt us to play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Just wait because the vibe shifts soon and Wednesday will be a brand new day.
A good friend of mine has noticed a correlation between Mars transits and other events on my calendar, and solar flares, solar storms, coronal events and other solar events that affect our electromagnetic field. I find that very interesting as I believe that the subtle magnetic connections between the planets are the mechanism by which astrology works– particularly the aspects the planets make to one another. But I digress.
Wednesday through the end of the week are ❇️ green green green ❇️ and good for work or play, creative or practical. The big unlock = freedom! and it kicks in as soon as the 🚩🚩 red dots finish on Tuesday evening.
New Moon in Capricorn, Sunday January 18
But let’s talk for a moment about this New Moon coming up on Sunday the 18th.
See that tight little blue triangle of connections (aspects) involving the New Moon/Mercury/Mars in Capricorn– fired up with serious communications– all business. This is a New Moon of planned and deliberate action, a new Moon of carefully chosen words.
That Capricorn stellium trines Uranus in fellow earth sign Taurus, which grounds the energy but grounds it into something that creates freedom. Saturn/Neptune at the midpoint of the trine in the end degrees of Pisces bring opportunities to tap into a divine or creative flow, face your fears, and let go of the old. I find clearing clutter is very effective at also releasing stuck energy. Both Saturn and Neptune will head into Aries soon, which is going to speed up the vibe and add more decisiveness and direction to the energetic soup.
In the meantime, as several planets close out their journeys through their respective signs, this New Moon opens yet another Lunar cycle where you can build the gate to your own freedom, and others’ too, by closing out an old cycle, letting go of the past. The time is right for change and healing on many levels. You could have a spiritual experience or sudden insight, an epiphany so powerful that you can never see things the same way that you used to.
