Full Moons are a time when the physiological activities and emotions stirred up at the time of that fresh, hot, and fast New Moon in fiery Aries reach a peak or maximum.
Today’s Full Moon in Libra highlights the skin and kidneys as areas to target for treatments (other than surgical) and self-love. The Full Moon sets the stage for the next two weeks, as the Moon winds down from its maximum to begin a new, slower, calmer Taurus cycle on April 26.
This Full Moon makes contact with both Uranus and Jupiter. Uranus is a planet of surprises and sudden changes. It rules the rhythms of the body that are under the control of the autonomic nervous system– breathing, heart rate, and such. The Lunar contact to Uranus may bring cramps and spasms, erratic autonomic rhythms, or volatile states of mind. Since Uranus is an electrical planet, make sure you have the electrolytes you need.
A note on electrolytes: sugary sports drinks are not the way to go! If you’re feeling droopy or fatigued, a couple of quarts of water with 1/4 teaspoon sea salt added to each may do wonders for you.
Uranus also rules the mineral zinc, which you may need a little more of these next two weeks. It’s one of the most common deficiencies that I have seen in my practice. Because zinc is crucial to the function of a lot of enzymes, zinc deficiency affects several of the body’s systems, especially the nervous system, immune system, growth, and reproduction. A common sign is ridging, pitting, or white spots on the fingernails. A “zinc tally” taste test could confirm a deficiency. If the zinc solution tastes good to you, you may be deficient.
The Full Moon appears very near Jupiter, ruler of the liver, fats, and fat metabolism. Those who tend to have issues with fat metabolism should take special care during these two weeks. Beets, cucumbers, green apples, and plenty of fiber in the diet are useful for thinning sludgy bile and helping a congested gallbladder clear itself.
Heads Up!
Here are some notable AstroWellbeing dates during this Lunar period.
April 14-16 – Mars sextile Chiron presents an ideal day for self-care, bodywork, and important treatments, especially for allergies or chronic pain.
April 19-21 – Mars square the Nodes cautions us to schedule light and avoid known inflammation triggers. Keep an eye on the dogs; they may act strangely or get into trouble.
