Tim Walz Astrology • Chart rectification and analysis

After a long summer of wondering, Kamala Harris is now running for POTUS, and she has chosen her running mate, Tim Walz. As we look ahead to the upcoming election, it’s time to dive into the astrological chart of the potential second in command.

My analysis is based on a rectified chart. That means I took an educated guess at his birth time, which is currently unknown. I started the rectification with my impression of his facial features, which are highly correlated with a person’s rising sign. If you haven’t seen my Astrology of the Face video, head on over and preview my course on the rising sign!

It’s important to note that the positions of the rising sign, 10th house, and other houses are speculative, but they provide intriguing insights into Walz’s personality and career trajectory.

I’m guessing based on his facial features, that this Aries has Cancer rising. Cancer is, so far, one of the easiest patterns for me to spot, because of their big, toothy, often crooked grins and round, “moony” facial features. I also see a little Capricorn, so maybe I’m wrong, but I’ll take a leap of faith here, and begin to break down this chart for you.

It makes sense that Saturn would be in the 9th considering his long career in politics and public service. And his Aries Sun-Mars-Jupiter in his 10th makes a lot of sense too given his smiling, easygoing presence, cool dad vibes, quick wit, and big Santa Claus energy!

Here’s the rectified chart I drew up for him:

Moon in Aquarius shows a guy who has the ability to detach from difficult emotions and take a wider view of a situation. Aquarius Moon is a team player who isn’t easily rattled emotionally.

What’s in his chart about women and families

There are two major planets in the chart that speak straight to our experience and relationship with women and the feminine. Those are the Moon and Venus. These two planets trine in Tim Walz’s chart, suggesting he grew up with strong support from his mother.

Venus is the apex of a mutable t-square, suggesting that despite all of his gifts it has taken time and effort for him to feel comfortable in his skin and with his peers, and to find balance in relationships– especially with the pressures of public life. Mutable signs have the gift of versatility and comfort with situations that are in constant flux, but they sometimes suffer from spreading themself too thin and scattering their energies. On a personal level, there may be difficult past experiences with close friends or relatives, or difficulties with a sibling. (Venus square Uranus-Pluto in rectified 3d, Saturn in 9.)

He also has the blessing of Venus and Mercury in mutual reception in his rectified 11th house. An extrovert who really likes people!

Mars at the midpoint of his Moon-Venus trine suggests he works well with women, gets inspiration from women, and will fight for women and families.

Mercury in Taurus • a steady, practical thinker

Mercury in Taurus has the potential to be stubborn and closed minded, but his record shows him to be a good listener and a modern thinker. Although he is quick with a clap back, he takes his time with decisions and looks deeply into issues (Pluto) before making up his mind. Mercury trine Uranus usually has a good understanding of technology as well.

This man thinks about what he’s going to do before he does it. Mercury trines Uranus-Pluto, giving him access to deep insights and a pretty good understanding of how things work, including technology. Although is Aries side is quick with a clap back, he takes his time with decisions. Mercury in Taurus has the potential to be stubborn and closed minded, but he has proved to be a good listener and a modern thinker.

Mercury connects to the practical South Node in Capricorn, which understands and works well within “the system.” When he’s at his best, this facility with the levers of power serves the goals of his North Node in empathic Cancer. He understands the system (South Node Capricorn). He knows how to use it to reach real everyday people (Cancer) and help them.

As long as that internal compass continues pointing North toward empathy, people, and families, not South to political ambitions, I think he will continue to find success.

Saturn transiting the potential 9th house • a Career on the Rise

If my rectification is correct, Saturn is currently transiting Walz’s 9th house, moving toward his Midheaven. This transit suggests that his career is heading toward a significant peak, aligning with his current rise in political prominence. As his star ascends, the Saturnian influence emphasizes discipline, hard work, and new responsibilities. Will he get the job? Based on my quickie rectification, I think he will.

  1. Cancer ASC makes great sense to me…
Is there anything which specifically made you use 11:00 am as the birthtime?
I got excited about the general lead of Cancer ASC and guesstimated 10:23 am as being in the Cancer ASC window for that time of year.
This put his Nodal axis right on the ASC, which is also a feature of Kamala’s chart which jumped out to me right away.

    1. Hi Chi – Not much science to it! I just clicked around until I saw Sun-Jupiter-Mars in the 10th which I really sense from him. And his 9th house placements made sense to me given his political rise and his teaching career before that. But who knows!!
