Neck or back pain? Try Alexander Technique

With a couple of important planets in Taurus and the Moon in Leo, my neck and spine tend to be the more vulnerable areas in my body. They play supporting roles to the star of my health story, my head (Sun in Aries). Those who know me know I get some awful migraines.
I tried Alexander Technique on Thursday afternoon (just after the Leo new Moon!). My gym offers classes, so I figured I would give it a try. Alexander Technique is all about re-teaching you how to do everyday things like walking, sitting in a chair, in a way that puts less weight and strain on the spine.
The instructor was a few minutes late to class. So I had an opportunity to chat with some students who had been in the class for a while. Most of the students were older folks who had had chronic pain. They used words like “life changing.”
The class began with a guided relaxation. The instructor called it “constructive relaxation.” Then we set up some chairs in a circle and learned how to sit properly, and how to pick something up off the floor without putting strain on the spine.
By the end of the class, my body felt very different, and my neck feels like a brand new neck, so much looser and freer. My neck tends to be the first place I feel it when I get a migraine. So I think this could really help.
I encourage anyone who has neck pain, back pain, migraines, or tension headaches to check it out.

This seems pretty interesting. I have been having problems with my back for some time now and no amount of massages and exercises relieved the pain. I think I shall try this out…thank you for posting this.

It’s one of the best value physical therapies I’ve ever had.
20 years on from actual instruction I still use it.
I was in a minor bus accident and put something out in my back. An osteopath sorted things and then recommended Alexander technique as I had poor posture.
Did it for six months (once a week moving to once a month) and grew an inch in height. People still comment on my good posture.

A few lessons in the Alexander Technique 5 years ago totally eliminated my longstanding low back pain.
They have a wonderful website at alexandertechnique.c… where you can learn more about it. It is definitely worth checking out.

Dr. Richard E. Busch III, a nationally well known Dr. of Chiropractic and author of “Surgery not Included: Freedom from chronic neck and back pain”, has some great alternatives that have proven to be very beneficial! Love the fact that surgery is not always the answer!
