Marla asks:

What might this upcoming moon void of course mean for election day?

The Moon will be v/c from 1:47 a.m. until 7:01 p.m. on November 4.

It’s not as bad as 2000. And it might not be a thing at all. Here’s how I figure that.

The first polls to open on Election Day are in Dixville Notch, NH, at 12:00 midnight.1 At that time, the Moon is not yet v/c. So even though many of us will be voting during the Moon v/c period, when the election begins at midnight in Dixville Notch, the Moon is still in a pretty good spot. Beginnings hold great importance in astrology. The beginning is the birth chart.

Let’s compare this year to the biggest clusterf*** in recent memory. The 2000 election began with Mercury at 00 Scorpio, retrograde. That makes kind of a “Mercury void of course” situation. Mercury was also square Neptune, planet of deception and confusion. Remember what a mess that was? Retrograde Mercury dipped back into 29 Libra and changed direction at 10:30 pm on Election Day, then swung back into Scorpio. Remember how Florida was called for Bush, then contested, then the recount, then the Supreme Court? Then back to Bush. Scorpio, Libra, Scorpio. Bush, ????, Bush.

In 2008, Mercury will also change signs on Election Day (around 11 a.m. eastern). But Mercury is not retrograde and does not square Neptune this year. Instead, it sextiles Pluto, which looks like a good sign to me. So I do not think we are looking at another 2000.

If you’re still concerned about it, there is probably still time to apply for an absentee ballot. And many localities are offering opportunities to vote early.

p.s. Not directed at Marla or anyone in particular, just spreading the word. All this kerfuffle about ACORN and voter fraud is nothing more than shameful, made-up garbage. See below.

1 Thanks to Tom Roma for the Dixville Notch info. He gave a very enlightening talk to the Richmond NCGR about the 2000 election. Most of the points I made about it are his.
