Total permission to nap and be lazy is a very good thing. And it’s so easy to do so here in Vinalhaven, an island about 15 miles off the coast of Maine. It has been perfect napping weather since we arrived Tuesday morning. Cool, gray and misty. I took this shot on a hike yesterday through a gorgeous, pristine nature preserve. I loved the wildness. I had a sip of wild water from a stream. I observed and learned about the mosses. It was like pictures of Middle Earth, a magical feeling, with moss covering the rocks like fur, or like a spongy carpet.
