First the PSA: Biblio.com has hundreds of copies of The Gods of Change by Howard Sasportas for sale at $9 each. This fantastic (and formerly rare) book on the transits of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto has been out of print for many years now, and before these copies appeared, had been selling for $90-$100 a pop! If you’re studying transits, do yourself a favor. Go get yours now, before the price goes back up.
* * *Now the free recipes! Not too long ago, I received a letter from my Aunt Patsy in Richmond. Here is what it said:
RECIPE TREEThis is a recipe tree. There is no money involved, so it is legal and fun. Please send a copy of your favorite recipe to the person listed on the back of this letter. (There’s an address label on the back.)
Then:
- Copy this letter and send it to six different people. Do not send them a recipe.
- Put my address labels on the back of the letters that you are sending out to the six people. (There were six of my aunt’s address labels included with the letter)
- Enclose six of your address labels in each envelope you send out.
You should receive 36 recipes. It will be interesting to see who they come from and what they are!
Now, turn the sheet over and send your recipe to that person! (that’s right, you only have to send one recipe.)
I know, I know. It’s a chain letter. That’s why I’m asking around, I don’t like chain letters, and I don’t want to randomly select friends on whom to place this burden. Normally I would have just trashed the letter.
But another part of me thinks, recipes! Recipes are fun! Don’t lots of people love recipes?! And don’t they have friends who love recipes?! And my Aunt Patsy is just great, I do want to help her fulfill her wish of having lots of recipes.
I am of two minds about this. If you, or one of your minds, agrees with my second mind, the one that thinks recipe sharing could be lots of fun, contact me with your mailing address, and I’ll send you one of my copies to get you started on your culinary adventure.
And here’s your free gift just for reading this blog— if you’re working on your muffin top (and who isn’t?), try out my recipe for spinach artichoke dip. Always a hit at potlucks.

That’s hilarious Molly (pseudodictionary). I found a similar site called urbandictionary.com where people submit phrases/words. It’s pretty ridiculous and funny.
Oh I SHOULD get that book, especially with this Pluto transit going on…
