Alimentation and the Moon
Posted under astrology
J asks
Can moon tell us what is our attitude toward alimentation?

Alimentation— that’s a good 50 cent word!
(For those of you, like me, who didn’t know: it means eating.)
The answer is Yes. In general Moon in Aries or Moon in aspect to Mars eats fast. Moon in Taurus or in aspect to Saturn eats slowly. I have Moon sq. Venus and the dinner table was abnormally quiet in our family. It was for eating, not for socializing. My BF has Moon trine Jupiter, and dinner has always been a social event in his family. So yes, you can.
These are just a few examples from the top of my head. Do you have any examples from your chart, or charts you know?

My moon is in Scorpio and is square Pluto in Leo. I have a very good stomach and digestion and can eat almost anything—in fact I love most foods. I have to watch how much I eat in regards to the amount of exercise I am doing because it is easy for the pounds to creep on.

My husband and I have moon in Gemini.
He comes up with weird mash-ups. Today he had a leftover salmon patty sandwich with hummus on it.

Hey. This moon eating is interesting. It makes sence that it would be that way. I guess that explains my eating habits. I have a moon in Capricorn, and I always eat the same things. My shopping list is always the same. I do not like to try too many new things. I stick to my familior favorits.

I have my Moon in Aries and I eat like a human vacuum cleaner. I also eat a lot of meat, particularly beef – and physically suffer when I don’t get enough of it. My friends with Aquarius Moons are largely vegans though, and seem to thrive on diets very heavy on salad and fruits.

hi thanks for your posting!
as a native french speaker, i thought i’d clarify this word “alimentation” to better guide our questioner.
the word “alimentation” actually translates better as nutrition. it’s eating in the sense of nourishment but not simply “eating”. that word is “manger”.
maybe the questioner would like insight into whether his/her moon signs gives an indication of nutritional plans he/she might benefit from, eating habits he/she might tend towards, what foods to stay away from, etc.
:)

Thank you darlin.’
Although I posted a French graphic, it is an English word too, and in English, it does mean eating.
Of course, I have no idea if the original poster was a native French speaker or not.

I have a natal 6th house moon in Scorpio and have been struggling with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (“D” predominant) for about 5 years now. :-( I have an especially difficult time digesting spicy or fatty foods. I also had some gall bladder problems about 8 years ago.

My 8 month old son was born with Pluto conjunct his Capricorn Moon, and Venus in Aries squaring his Moon as well. He eats via a gastrostomy tube (g-tube) as his feeding instinct was destroyed during a long stay in intensive care following a difficult birth. He is cautiously learning to eat with a therapist but does not have great enjoyment of it yet. Some tastes are really fun for him, like pickle juice and salty tastes. He will get the hang of it eventually, perhaps another year…..maybe then he will have the tendency to overindulge a la the typical Moon-Venus square. I found hard Moon-Venus aspects in the charts of a couple more kids with g-tubes and very little desire to eat, at least as infants and toddlers.

wow, that is interesting, Jennifer. I have the Moon Venus square in Taurus and Leo. I had some issues breastfeeding when I was a baby too. No tubes or anything, I was just switched to formula at about 3 weeks.

Moon in Libra in the Twelfth here. Am fairly used to eating things quite cold, when I remember they’re there. LOL That’s what happens when you’re too busy watching the chef.
However, I have a sun-moon opposition…and yes, if there’s no entertainment, will hoover the food. Weird allergies/ sensitivities to most grains and soy. Like the Aries Moon, am carnivorous by necessity (also a lot of dairy).
