Leo is the fixed fire sign. Fixed signs are the most unchanging signs of all. Fire signs are the most idealistic. Leo is the sign most known for passion and dedication to an ideal.
This devotion brings Leo the gifts of generosity, and faithfulness when they reach out to others. Leos are loyal to the core. Leo rules the heart, and Leos have a wonderful warmth and goodness of heart.
The Sun is the ruler of Leo. The Sun represents Ego. The stereotype of Leo is the fun-loving, boisterous, class clown type, or the showoff, but it’s more complex than that.
Any planet in Leo indicates that the ego is sensitive or important in some way. That’s why Leos thrive on appreciation. They often end up on stage, although not all Leos are performers (in the strictest sense of the word).
If the self-esteem is not strong, Leo can be painfully self-conscious. In response, Leo might either turn inward for fear of losing approval or being scorned, or they overcompensate and “show off,” constantly pulling the spotlight onto themselves.
Leo can also be so idealistic as to lose perspective. When others do not follow or agree with the ideal, Leo may adopt a judgmental attitude. (“It’s so obvious that this is the right way to do things. Why can’t they see this is the right way? These people must be on dope.”)
Leo has a gift for inspiring other people. When they use the fire inside to focus the spotlight on other people’s good qualities, the effect is tremendous.

VERY ACCURATE. Now all i have to do is counteract the bad qualities. it’ll be perfect… but still close
4 · sunstar · 2 August 2006
The key here is to try our best to play down the bad stuff and this is why us leo’s are so careful in a crowd of people not to make ourselves look silly and egotistical and snob-like, we always make sure that we know our facts before offering any advise as we do not want to be embarrased by making false claims. Always be sure and confident of what we say and do, after all we represent leadership and high ideals. We must keep up the standards.
Cheers!

Leos are mean people and hateful, they lie and cheat and use people…..they re not loyal because the men cheat on their wives and girlfriends in fact they can be dangerous….they are too egotiscal and have no confidence in themselves and most all of Leos end up dirt poor…they are not good for money…in fact they are down right stupid…..A sag.

Thats a bit unfair. i feel as if you havent adventured enough sag, because thats a big generalisation. Maybe you should forgive and move on. Im a leo and nothing in the description you make out. i hope you find a better leo out there. keep an open mind. -peace

I am a Leo and I have learned to down play the arrogrance and vanity.
I know that Leo is a sign of wisdom. So, I read and study everything. I keep myself up to date because I know I will be asked and tested by those around me. I am a leader and if I am in this position to lead I must have the answers. Also, I feel that Leo is a high achiever and must always strive for higher education in all aspects of life.8 · the lioness · 3 September 2006

OMG!! Sag…that was funny…but sad. Sad because you can hear your hurt ALL over the place. I agree with you that Leo’s can be quite insensitive to everyone else’s needs but their own….but so can Virgo’s and Libra’s and Sag’s and Capricorn’s and….well you see..every sign has the potential for insensitivity.
I dated Virgo’s, Pisces, Cancer’s, Leo’s, Sag’s…..probably every sign in the zodiac and the one thing that they all had in common was immmaturity…..not the sign Leo. So perhaps, just perhaps that was the problem with your Leo “friend”.I think what you are saying is that some person with Leo in their chart was insensitive to you and that is too bad. I was married to a double Taurus once and he confessed that he just could not be faithful when there were soooo many beautiful women out there. Talk about insensitive! I was also married to a Gemini who could not find his way home after work!
His friends came first….even before his sons…..as a matter of fact he forgot that he had them!
Good Luck with future Leo friends!

yeah i agree. we can all find the bad things in each other and its too easy to pick it out as a trait of such and such. There’s also beauty in everyone and in every sign. Its a bummer some guys/girls never grow up.. all we can hope for is some compatibility and the star signs might show a few dotts along the way for us to understand why the connections occur.*
13 · HN · 30 October 2006
I agree with sunstar, but not all of leos are like that. Although they’re so determine and self centered. As oppose of all human nature, if they want to get in action, they’ll get it. But as far as I’m concern they’re way out of my league.

I myself am going to be a degree holder soon, not poor, very loyal, confident but in a quiet manner and to be honest with you don’t care about the world at the moment and i think if you are trying to climb to the top it’s inevitable. Who doesn’t “use” people at some point, if that’s what you wanna call it.

i think leos are egoistic than others not because im one of the them but ‘cause i’ve seen and noticed it- all the time. but at the same time they are generous and caring and giving. everyone has some bad qualities, dont they? no one can judge someone merely on the basis of one idiotic incedent.
i think sag here is a bit terrified now of the leos. my advice is take your chance one more time – if u have it in u….....and dont be so judgemental sag.

I have a Leo Venus and a Leo Saturn it says I’m supposed to love attention be romantic but it also said sex is a big part of this sign in these planets, is this true?
19 · Molly · 14 February 2007
Hi Breanne—
First of all, it's not proper to say a sign is in a planet. Signs describe a location: a section of the sky, which the planets travel through. It’s like saying Charlottesville is in me, when I really mean, I am in Charlottesville. Venus and Saturn are in Leo, not the other way around.
Please don't feel like I'm picking on you. It's a very common mistake that a lot of beginners make.
Sexuality is complex and cannot be pinned to one sign. Some Leos are highly sexual, others have lower libidos.
I tend to look at the condition of Mars to gauge sexuality. Venus describes how you connect, and Mars describes the act itself. It involves the signs, but it’s so complex that you can’t go as far as to say all people with Venus in Leo have a strong sex drive. To say that about Mars in Leo would be closer to the truth, but still not absolute.

My son is a Leo (15.57) and his Dad is a Libra (22.55) my husband (his dad) doesn’t seem to get him and often treats him pretty harsh because he always assumes that the poor kid is doing things purposely to tick him off…
Is there anything I can do (Aries 25.25 w/ moon in Sag and N. Node Virgo and Asc. sign is Scorpio) to help them understand each other better? It’s killing my son’s self esteem to be judged all the time, and my husband is tired of talking to him but refuses to try to discipline him my way. Any ideas on how to communicate to them, or help them communicate better?
My son’s ascending sign is Virgo, N. Node is 20, He also has Virgo in six different places on his chart: Mercury, Venus, Lilith, N. Node, 2nd House and his Asc. sign. His moon is in Libra, he also has Libra in Mars and his third house.
My hubby was born in the same hospital as my son, but was adopted so we don’t know what time he was born. His chart reads:
Sun Libra 22.55
Moon Cancer 20.28
Mercury Libra 8.11
Venus Scorpio 24.27
Mars Scorpio 4.59
Jupiter Gemini 0.03 R
Saturn Leo 15.15
Uranus Scorpio 6.34
Neptune Sagittarius 11.58
Pluto Libra 12.04
Lilith Taurus 8.57
Asc node Scorpio 3.29
Please help! Is there a way these two can get along?!
Thanks!

Colleen,
I'm afraid there is not an easy answer to your question. We could do an entire hour long reading on just this question.
It is important for your husband to realize that as a Leo, he is the most important person in your son’s life. Leo is the sign of the father. Leos do tend to thrive on approval, and become very self-conscious when negatively criticized.
Whenever there is a problem between a child and a grown-up, it’s always the grown-up’s responsibility to be, well.. grown up about it. How you are going to get your husband to recognize it’s up to him to change his approach? I don’t know. He has a lot of Scorpio, and they don’t change until they’re good and ready, on their terms. We could probably come up with some ideas in a session. But I am missing a lot of information. I would need your chart and your son’s. I am not asking for you to give this info to me here in the comments. This is too involved to try to untangle in the comments.
Your husband’s birth time would be helpful too. Chances are, it is on record somewhere. It looks like he was born in the 1970s, and they were definitely recording birth times in hospitals then. If you contact the department of vital records in your state, order a copy of the birth certificate WITH BIRTH TIME (you have to specify this), you can probably find out.
23 · Molly · 21 March 2007
p.s. If my answer seems awkward, I mean, besides the fact that I'm missing info, it's probably because I’m not a parent. (I don’t think cats count.) Any mothers or fathers out there who have something to add, please do.
24 · Molly · 23 March 2007
I'm still thinking about your situation, Colleen.
You have a more assertive husband with a non-confrontational son. If you read up on your son's Libra Moon, and also on your husband's Mars Uranus conjunction, you can get a sense of how different these two are temperamentally.
Tough problems really stick in my head, and my mind keeps going back to your question. And I had a thought about a book you would probably get a lot out of: The Dance of Anger: A Woman's Guide to Changing the Patterns of Intimate Relationships. I love this book. It can help you see this thing with new eyes, and see what you can do to help the men in your life get along.
I don't know if you are still checking my web page for an answer. So I e-mailed you at the address you left on your original comment. (Not public, only I can see it.)

I’m a Pisces and it seems I ALWAYS attract Leo men??? What’s with that? Not to say I don’t love being around them…my last relationship was with a Leo man…lasted 10 years…it was loyal to the core!!! And loved people, and children…he’s really a great guy…BUT…there was always this disconnect…I swear it was ‘cause of our sun signs…but we did connect re: moon, venus, and mars pretty well. Anyway, Leos are great…all signs are…everyone has their bad side too (but can’t we see the good in everyone?) :) – A Pisces

I’m a leo, and I feel like I’m having the hardest time this year, even though saturn is out of my sign. What’s that about? Also, I found that I go crazy over Sag. men, and they are always attracted to me but, something awful always happens. For instance, this years crazy astrological movements, starting with the mercury retrograde in feb.13- to the venus retrograde-july27. I found myself in the stickiest situation with a crazy Sag. man. and I think that I’m totally in love with him, and due to mix ups, and I think he hates me. I know why these things happened, but he doesn’t. I can’t tell him, cause he probably thinks that astrology is silly, and he hates me anyway. I thought that things where supposed to get better….and now mars is in retrograde, and I want to jump off of a cliff everytime I see this Sag dude.

My grandmother, aunt and brother are All Leos and yes its true sometimes they can lie, insensitive and egostical. However, they are also caring, protective of the people they love, intelligen and they are good leaders. If you know a leo or is a leo read up on them or yourself more often you will like what you hear either way. I know for the Leos I know once they know that they are hurting you they will make sure not to do it again, probably the perfectionist part of them coming out. But overall I love them all and sometimes tehy have narrowmindness that makes them not even talkable to they are truly loving people.

Salutations to everyone!
While I have enjoyed those nay sayers who speak ill about my beautiful sign, I feel we are misunderstood. One topic I definitely agree on is our LOYALTY.
We are self assured, arrogant, boisterous to a point, egotistical at times… even jealous. But may I include that we are generous, intellectual, natural born LEADERS, caring, empathetic and we make LOVE better than any sign I’ve EVER experienced. Thats what great about being a LEO. We are proud and loving and spiritual. I think if you are one of the lucky ones to catch a LEO HANG ON TO THEM. It will be a bumpy adventurous RIDE. It will be one you won’t forget. We make great partners in relationships, loyal to a T. We make for wonderful friends and even worse enemies. Would you rather have a LION befriend you or BEHEAD you! Choose wisely. Most Leos feed off others energy. If you are nasty with us we flare that mane and rise to the occasion. If you stroke the puddy cat you get to have us puuurrrrr.
I am a LEO and I LOVE IT! As for those bitter and sour over losing such a great CATch, perhaps you weren’t strong enough to tame your leo, or maybe you were simply outta your league.
Lotsa love to all the signs but opinions are like a holes…. everyone has one.
those who have heard of our sexual prowess are usually not capable of handling whats in store when you address a Leo ( a LIONESS especially) It takes one bad motha (shut yo mouth) to tangle with the BIG BAD CAT.

Hi Keef— the planetary placements don’t look too bad. But I can't do that much with a list of signs.
Stepparent relationships are some of the most difficult on earth for everyone involved. There are countless ways it can go wrong. I have seen it done badly (all of my stepparents) and done well (other people’s). So I know it is possible to make it work. But it takes a lot of effort, especially on the grown-ups’ part, and good communication between you and your wife. There are some good books about stepparenting out there. I don’t know what they are, but I hope you’ll seek them out. Or maybe another reader here will offer a recommendation? Anyone?
As far as the astrology goes, I could help you understand what it is about you that gets tweaked and how you can better relate to him. I wish my stepparents had cared enough to seek out this kind of understanding. But it is way too deep to get into here in the comments. And it will probably be more beneficial if you have read some of the stepparenting books first. If you want to talk about a reading, check this out and then contact me. I would be most happy to help.

I have lots of expeariance with Leos, and I have a Mars in Leo, and 2 planets in the fifth house. I must say, as a Sag, I find myself very compatable with Leos. I do find them to be close and loial friends. Some of them have a little bit too much mouth, but it is OK. After years of studying astrology, I do feel that Leo is one of the more sexual signs of the zodiac. This does not mean that every Leo is sexual, that would be found in the personal chart, but the consept of Leo is a sexual one. You can see it most when Venus or Mars is in Leo. People with strong fifth house placements will feel the affects of that sex/romance house. I have known many many many Leos, and there is always a sexual over or under tone to their personality. Its great.

Proud, Vain, perfectionist, have a flair for most anything we do, but best of all we are loyal and dedicated to whatever or whoever we admire. If you treat us right, you definately know that you are the object of our affection. One of my biggest obstacles has been dating a Virgo man. It is a definate challenge because he knows just how to knock me down 3 or 4 notches, but for some reason, I just adore him. He is so worth it to me.

I’m a Pisces girl dating a Leo man and all I can say is high sex drive to the 10th power. Whenever he is around me he wants to have sex all the time; for hours on end. He showers me with gifts and constantly tells me how much he loves me. Although in the beginning it was me giving him little ojects of affection, like sending him flowers and fruit baskets. Sometimes he confuses me and I think he is seeing other women, because he’ll not call me or return my calls promptly. Then with much prodding he’ll reveal that he was upset about something I did to make him feel that he was second in my life. My immediate concern is that he keeps asking me to marry him, but never with a ring…Is there a Leo out there that can tell me what that is all about?
