Molly's Astrology for September 2006
Astrological forecast (horoscope) for September 2006.
Almost everyone knows about astrology’s 12 signs. The signs are indeed important in astrology, but their popular use belies astrology’s real breadth and depth. One of the most useful and universally applicable applications of astrology is the “weather forecast” of energies we can see when we watch the planets move through the signs. As they do so, they connect with each other in various ways, challenging or harmonious. As above, so below— here on earth, we see the drama of the macrocosm played out in the microcosm. It doesn’t matter what sign you are— knowing the lay of the land up ahead gives you a great perspective on your life and experiences.
A formation called a T-square appears in the heavens this month. A T-square is a stress signal made up of two planets opposite each other, and a third planet at 90° angles to both, like a letter T.
Saturn opposite Neptune signals a need for each of us individually to live our dreams and face our fears. It thins the veil between reality and unreality, and brings people’s true feelings closer to the surface. It’s much more difficult to hide now. And those who have lied and deceived must stand accountable. So I doubt this will be an easy Fall in Washington DC! In fact, the last time this opposition appeared in the heavens, the Watergate scandal broke.

The third leg of the T-square is Jupiter, which governs courts, cops, long journeys, and your philosophy. And abundance— Jupiter magnifies what he touches, representing grandiose gestures, which, in this instance, may not be grounded in reality! It’s important at this time to take things slow, and don’t gamble more than you can afford to lose! Jupiter (lots of) squares Neptune (confusion, idealism) this month, and Saturn (responsibility, work) in October.
Meanwhile, a pair of Eclipses lights up the skies. Eclipses are often seen as ominous, and I suppose they can be. Brady’s interpretation of the current Saros series (below) certainly is. But Eclipses also highlight areas of life where new developments are due to occur between now and next Spring.
Separation and loss. To be parted. To finish something, and to feel sad at its completion. Physical injury is also possible through over-straining one’s strength. This is not the time to undertake strenuous physical activities.
Bernadette Brady, Predictive Astrology
In his book on Eclipses, Carl Jansky’s take is that Eclipses uncover things. We all have parts of ourselves, problems we choose to put off for the time being, things we sweep under the rug. Then Eclipse time comes, and no more rug! No more hiding. Uncomfortable as that is at times, it can be quite useful. If the Eclipse comes within 3 or 4 degrees of a planet or angle in your birth chart, the energy is even more powerful for you.
September 1-7
The first week in September, leading up to the Lunar Eclipse, there are some pretty good planetary aspects. Jupiter trine Uranus happened in water signs Scorpio and Pisces at the end of August, and on September 2-3, Mercury in Virgo lines up with both, bringing visionary ideas and inventive solutions to the market and workplace. Then September 5-6, the Sun does the same. So it’s a good time to get work done and get other people on board with your project.
The Lunar Eclipse happens September 7 in Pisces, the most sensitive and psychic sign of all. Full Moons always bring emotions to the surface. The Lunar Eclipse is a super-charged Full Moon. So pay attention to what comes up.
September 8-16
Mars moves from hardworking, earthy Virgo into diplomatic and nicey-nice Libra early on the 8th. Mars is what we desire, what motivates us, and the way we take action. Libra tends to be indirect, desiring harmony but settling sometimes for surface harmony even if things are seething underneath. It doesn’t matter how many daisies you dress it up with, if it’s a turd, it’s a turd. Do yourself a favor and be direct. Diplomatic, but direct. Mercury squares Pluto on the 8th, drawing us all to the core of things and tempting us to break taboos. Take it easy, don’t force things. If you find yourself in a pickle, listen. Let the other guy do the talking. People are goofing up and showing their true colors all over the place. Mel Gibson, George Allen, and I’m certain there will be others.
This Mercury Pluto square may also coincide with a serious weather event. I’m sending my prayers out to all of you living on the coast these days.
The weekend is nice, with not much serious going on (after maybe a tense Saturday morning), and some nice Lunar aspects.

Add the finishing touches, and tie up loose ends on Monday the 11th and Tuesday the 12th, as Mercury moves through the last degree of Virgo and prepares to enter Libra on Tuesday afternoon. Mercury in Libra is concerned with fairness, balance, and tit-for-tat. We tend to consider all points of view, and this may bring out the reputed indecisiveness of Libra. But not just yet. Mercury will meet up with Mars on Friday. Mars knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it. How to handle this? Go after your desires, assert yourself, but do it in a kind way. Make the other guy think it was his idea in the first place (something Libras are really good at). Let go of small injustices, foibles. Is it worth being angry about? Is it truly unfair, or just annoying?
We all need a little more space and independence on Friday. It’s a wild night for a party, and maybe a bit of high drama for some, as the Sun squares compulsive Pluto, exact Saturday night. Easy does it. Is it that important? Life or death? If not, let it go.
September 17-24

The Jupiter Neptune square (part of this month’s t-square) is at full power this week. So be extra careful around water and chemicals, medicines and even foods1, as we tend to be extra sensitive, and also a little spacey. Pay attention to the ideas that come up, but don’t let it involve you in something too complicated, that you don’t completely understand. Confusion is in the air. Our collective head is in the clouds, and we’re extra prone to inflated ideas about the ideal person or the ideal situation. You may be overlooking something important. Keep in mind that we’re all more open to the spiritual reality behind the material manifestation. When this happens, what we usually think of as reality becomes more fluid. Time does funny things. Sleep patterns are unusual and dreams are intense. We tend to be more intuitive, and sometimes say or do things without knowing why. Keep your sense of humor about it, and you’ll be a lot happier!
We’re in the final Lunar phase, a time of finishing things up, and getting ready for a new beginning. Things happen in their own time during this quieter Lunar phase— don’t rush to a decision. There’s a bit of good news on Sunday the 17th and Monday the 18th as Venus sextiles lucky Jupiter. It may be a bit of good financial news, or the puzzle piece finally fits.
The Solar Eclipse in Virgo on Friday morning signals a time to set intentions and goals related to your job, your health, employees, co-workers, or the way you manage your schedule. This eclipse is a bit strange, as it happens in Virgo’s anaretic degree. (That’s a fancy word for the last degree of Virgo.) There’s a quality of being on the edge, close to the cusp, or doorway, of the next sign. I’m not one of those who thinks that these last degrees are a blending of the two signs. The Eclipse is in Virgo, not Libra. But there’s an idea of finishing something up in this Eclipse. Being almost, but not quite, done. It’s kind of like when you move out of your home. You get all the big stuff packed and loaded up, and you’re pretty well tired out, but there’s always a seemingly never-ending supply of little odds and ends, and of course the cleaning up still has to be done. You’re still in the old place, but you’re aware of and moving toward a new beginning. Make a clean break with the past, and move on to the next step.
Over the weekend, the Jupiter Neptune square is in full effect. This is a repeat of the energies that first appeared January through March of this year. So this may be a time when some situation that first appeared at the beginning of the year resolves or comes to fruition. In addition, Venus squares obsessive Pluto, bringing out intense desires in some folks. Keep it in perspective, and play it safe when you go out this weekend.
September 25-30

Listen. The Neptunian fog begins to clear, revealing good, solid solutions as Mercury sextiles Saturn and Pluto, Monday through Wednesday. It’s a good time to negotiate contracts, make your point and listen to others. The Sun and Mercury are in diplomatic Libra, a sign that loves fairness and balance. Venus will join them in her home sign on Saturday morning. Venus is extra powerful here, and the urge to partner up and smooth things over is strong. As long as you’re not avoiding necessary confrontation or wallpapering over your true feelings, it’s all good. Make sure you take a few moments to relax and enjoy.
Mark your Calendar!
The best days for you high priority plans are September 2-4, 6, 18, 27.
Keep things simple September 8, 10, 11, 13-16, 20-24.
1 I recently became aware of the powerful effect spicy food has on me. I have a very hot constitution (Pitta dosha in ayurveda) (yes, I’m a hottie). I started to realize that eating something very spicy, garlicky or gingery before bed will keep me up half the night, agitated and unable to settle down. I was studying ayurveda at the time, and it was quite the revelation! Jupiter magnifies, and Neptune represents sensitivities. So it’s a time when you might discover some sensitivity of your own. Pay attention to your body’s signals.

Hi Molly,
I understand that the first eclipse in September is related to one of the eclipses in March (my sun sign is Virgo). The eclipses of March seemed to touch off a series of crisis in early and mid-May in my life. Does that mean that the September eclipses will manifest in November for me? Also, can I expect that the “theme” will be the same and with the same players?
Additionally, my birthday was yesterday and I had a solar return chart done a few years back but didn’t find it to be very helpful. It was just the information and I didn’t have the opportunity to discuss any aspects of it. What kind of information should a solar return chart provide?
2 · Molly · 31 August 2006
Hi Lori—For solar returns, I note the ascendant and planets in houses, especially conjunct angles, for a sense of the “flavor” of the year. Beyond that, I don’t use them all that much. Transits to your natal chart are much more powerful.
Re the September eclipse, it’s near where the Lunar eclipse appeared in March so it might precipitate similar themes in possibly a more external (Solar) way? But the transiting planets will have shifted soon so the energy will be different too.
3 · Anastasia · 31 August 2006
Hi Molly,
In the last 2 years I have radically changed my goals and wishes for the future. This has taken much courage and trust. As I'm under a Neptune transit, and Jupiter is nearly on Neptune, do you think these new crazy wonderful goals can manifest, or is it all a bunch of delusional wishing/dreaming ? 28 September 1966, 12:30 pm München Germany
Thanks for your insights!

Hi Molly-
Thanks again for the forecast. I have a question. My birthday is on December 7th and I read that this Lunar eclipse has a very direct effect on me. Yes I know I have 6 days to live and see but what is a good way to deal with the fallout of the Lunar eclipse and how can I take measures?

I love the breast scales image for Libra—finally an interesting scales image! ehee.
XOXO
7 · Molly · 4 September 2006
Hi Pelin— re “fallout,” all any of us can do is be aware of the intense energy, the storm happening around us, and stay centered, in the eye of the storm, meeting the energy conciously rather than getting caught up in it. Feel your feelings, be there for your friends and loved ones.
Right now I am so sad for the loss of Steve Irwin. What a precious, passionate man he was.

Hello Molly,
It’s nice to see that there are still people like you that take the time and effort from their professional endevours to offer help to others, in a fourm such as this one. Kudos to you(!)
Anyways, if you may have any insight for the next year, just the thought that might jump out at you- my birthday’s on the 7th of sept, 1969. While online a few days ago, I noticed that there’s a lunar eclipse occuring on that day, too. I can’t help but wonder what THAT will bring in the near future. Needless to say, the past few years have not been too good, to put it mildly. Any thoughts would be greatly appricated.
Thank-you
keith
9 · Molly · 4 September 2006
Hi Keith—the Lunar Eclipse has a lot to teach you about letting go of your vision of what’s “right” or how things should look, and moving into a place of acceptance of how things really are, and letting go of the Virgo-ey details to allow a more expansive worldview to develop. As the Eclipse takes place close to your Nodes, it’s a good time to read up on your Node in Pisces. I recommend Jan Spiller’s excellent book, Astrology for the Soul.
10 · Angela · 5 September 2006
Hi Molly, I am signing a contract to buy my first house ever later today(the 5th) and am just wondering how things look astrologically for such an endevor. I’m a Cancer with an Aires moon, mercury in Cancer, Venus and Mars in Gemini, Jupiter in Taurus and Saturn in Pisces, rising sign either Sag or Capricorn. Thanks, Angela

Something just occurred to me about the Solar Eclipse at 29 Virgo.. are the end degrees of signs about finally making changes that have been a long time coming? Let me know if this starts to ring true for you as the Eclipse approaches.

Hi,
I am wondering about my friend’s breast cancer surgery that is due to be done in Vancouver on Sept 25th? She was born 11/16/56. I am worried and that date was pushed back from the 20th due to her work situation. Can you please tell me anything? They are going in to clear the edges and see if the lymphs are clean..
Any info would be greatly and gratefully appreciated.
I love her a lot.
Thank you,
Melissa
14 · Melissa · 6 September 2006
Hi Molly,
I also forgot to say that the date can’t be changed and I don’t know the time of it. But it seems very close to the new moon and it seems Virgo is the moon that day. And I just read more of your site and that doesn’t seem so good. It may be out patient surgery for the lumpectomy and lymph biopsy.I am so upset as she is like my sister.
I am in Los Angeles and looking for any help..
Thank you,
I am grateful..

the lunar eclipse falls in my second house (sun pisces 8 deg.) and the solar eclipse is exactly conjunct jupiter in my 8th house. Can you suggest any effects or energies which I might exploit? I am waiting for a lung transplant. Could this be relevant?
Thank you for your insights.

Hi Molly,
My Younger brother was born on 17th Dec 1974 and is into retail garment business. He has a shop since last Feb2006. His business does not seem to flourish. Should he look for some other kind of business or shut shop and join a Service line?
Pls. help.
17 · Molly · 7 September 2006
Upendra,
Firstly, this is not an appropriate setting for such an in-depth question. Do you really want me to advise your brother here, in the public comments on my website, on the question of how he earns his livelihood? Secondly, would he even be receptive to my suggestions? Wouldn’t a more in-depth look at things, at his request, be more effective?
18 · Molly · 7 September 2006
Barb,
The second house does correspond to the physical body, and the 8th to important life changes. Jupiter in medical astrology governs freedom, growth, expansion, good news. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.
My partner’s aunt had her ‘plant in 2004. I looked up transplants for her, and found a Saturn-Uranus connection. Sure enough, when Uranus transited her natal Saturn, she got the call. She recovered incredibly fast. She has become close friends with the donor’s widow as well. Amazing stuff; it has made such a huge difference in her life. I wish the same for you.
19 · Elen · 7 September 2006
Hi Mollly,
Is the Lunar Eclipse occuring today an ending period for the Solar Eclipse in March? Since the effects of eclipses can last up to six months does that mean whatever was initiated or brought to the surface over the past six months will come to some sort of conclusion or culmination now? Thanks!
Elen

Thanks,

21 · Lynn · 7 September 2006
The eclipse September 7th squares by 15-degree sagittarius ascendant, my 21-degree sagittarius sun and opposes by 11-degree Virgo moon. NOT GOOD. I know that eclipses are powerful. I relocated and have gotten several job offers int he past few years in conjunction with eclipses. But this one scare me. I am afraid that I will die, or lose someone else. Talk me off the ledge please.
22 · Molly · 8 September 2006
Lynn,
How about not worrying about what you cannot control? People die, there's not a lot anyone can do to change that. And there's no guarantee that you'll lose someone. I know Brady's interpretation for this Saros series is pretty dire, but I have never looked at an eclipse as a sure fire significator of death. Except maybe on the world stage where there is a holy war going on and great suffering in parts of the world.
My suggestion to you is to put your focus on what you want to create over the next six months. Because what we focus on gets bigger, it's a universal law. So what's it going to be-- your power, or your fear? The choice is yours.

How’s this for eclipse effects?!!!!!!!!!!!
“Working” with the drug Task Force (weekends off)
because my neighbor right over our heads has a drug lab and he works from midnight until about 7:30 each morning about 5 days a week!
My family is in jeopardy~ nice, huh.
This morning I work up furious (as is my right as an aries, wimp mars in pisces until now, that is) as this creep goes on and the “task force” takes the weekend off. Supposedly they’re On It but I suspect not.
Wouldn’t mar’s entry into libra take the wind out of this motley endeavor???

My birthday is on the 22nd of this month. How is this eclips going to effect me? So far, everything you’ve said about this month has come true. Between the 1st and the 4th, I went through divorce proceedings. Then on the 8th, I discover I have Shingles (ouch).
Caution with drugs and chemicals is right on the money. I have 4 drugs I have to take, including Hydrocodone for the pain. It would be so easy to get confused and thoughtless about when I took what drug and when.
Ohmigawsh…and then this eclips on my birthday. I’m tell’n ya Molly, if you got to be any more accurate in what you say here, I’d swear you have a time machine. Of course, we all know the greatest time machine around is the whole universe. What a magnificent machine. Yesod is the vision of the machinery of the universe, and every single thing in it is always in motion…ever notice that.
The trees dance with the wind, the wind with the sky, the sky with the stars, and the stars with the galaxy. The galaxy dances with the uniververse, and it all dances within the mind of The Creator. Fun ain’t it?

Holly, came across your site as I was browsing information on north and south nodes. I do astrology myself, tarot and many other reading types. I have a quick question. I was born with nn in cap and sn in cancer. A doozy of a combination considering that saturn conjuncts my south node, so yes, home is life and career is challenge. Any insights as to what career paths might be of solid consideration to consider to open up the nn? I am a healer myself and an intuitive reader, but I have not believed that this was my career direction for this life, rather natural talents, karmically that have emerged.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers :-)

Hi Holly
A friend and I were discussing astrology the other night and she suggested I have a look at your site, and I must say I am very glad I did. Wow is all I can say!
I do have a question that I am hoping you may be able to help me with. My full name is Jacqueline Thompson (nee Marriott) and I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 22 October 1973 at around midday. I have recently quit my job and am starting up my own business but I’m not sure I am doing the right thing. I have this feeling I should be doing something esoteric, I feel drawn to it somehow. I also had a very disturbing dream about my husbands aunt last Thursday night and the following day her husband was diagnosed with a very rare but aggressive form of cancer. I’m not sure if they are related in anyway, but I thought maybe it’s a sign.
Here’s hoping you can help a very confused person! I look forward to hearing from you and thanks again for a great site.

I wouldn’t worry about Pluto’s reclassification. I don’t think he’s going anywhere as far as astrologers are concerned. Here’s a blog I wrote about it.

Thanks for providing so much information on your website Molly. I appreciate it. I am cutting some ties right now to a relationship that became toxic and this break has been a long time coming. I know the other person finds it difficult and is struggling but I am digging my heels in. I feel I have been treated like s**t for too long to go back now. I also feel rage. Like, pure unadulterated rage. I don’t know if it is the planetary energy moving around (I have saturn in leo in my 7th house and neptune in sagittarius my 12th house) but I am also feeling like I am going with my destiny. This person is not a lover, but a friend. Anyway, this month’s information you have provided has been most helpful and I appreciate it. Thanks for being a site of reference for budding astrologers!

Hello Molly. I just discovered your site. I really hope you can help me with this. I just had a few questions regarding my planetary positions. I’m aware that the sun is the most important factor in a chart, followed by the moon. Well my sun in Scorpio, my moon is in Gemini, and Aries is rising. I know that Scorpio is a strong sign, but I wanted to know how it is when it is combined with a Gemini moon? Does it make me less Scorpio-like or weaker than a typical Scorp? I know of people that have Scorpio rising and/or moon in Scorpio as well as the sun and I was curious if this makes them a stronger Scorpio than say someone with just the sun in Scorpio. My sun is conjunct Saturn is Scorpio and I have Pluto and the South Node in Scorpio, although there is no conjunction between Pluto, the sun and south node. Also my Mars is square Pluto, Ascendant is opposite Pluto, and my mercury and Uranus are both in the 8th house. (I figured I add these because they have Scorpio traits). I also read that the moon is what we strongly identified with when we were children, but anyone can tell you that I did not behave like a Gemini at all. I was very much a Scorpio! I wonder if this is because of my sun-Saturn connection, south node position, or the fact that in the end, Scorpio is just a strong, unwavering sign. I also would like to know if the sun-Saturn aspect restrains my Scorpio traits. If so I have 4 planets in Sagittarius that may add some expansion to my chart: Mercury, Venus, Uranus and Neptune. I may have forgotten something, but the main point I would like to know is what kind of a Scorpio am I?
Thanks,
RJ

Hi Molly,
Big fan. But, I am teaching my child astrology and was sharing your newsletter and reading it together. Nasty photo you have there. I am quite disappointed to say the least, but the shock of it while scrolling the newsletter with my child has not worn off, nor the embarrassment we both felt. Next time please place a warning if there are questionable photos. I realize your letters are for adult, but being an adult myself I found it in poor taste. How will the world ever get to be a better place if one continues to spread things like that around? Really.
Thank you,

Are you talking about the scales painted on those beautiful breasts?
I think the world would be a much better place if people did not get so upset about breasts, Tricia. I'm sorry you feel that way. I feel very sorry for you, and I feel especially sorry for your daughter. If you find this gorgeous female body "nasty," what message are you giving her about her own beautiful body? Think about it, Mom.
