Molly's Astrology for June 2010 - overview
Jupiter conjunct Uranus
Uranus entered fire sign Aries last month. In the first week of June, Jupiter also moves into Aries, and the two conjoin in the first degree of the sign. This fortunate pairing favors pioneers, inventors, innovators, revolutionaries, and those who are willing to take a gamble. With Saturn still opposing this pair, your new ideas have to have some grounding in reality, or they won’t work. Problems come when you buck the trend just to be different, without a real reason to do so. The downside of Jupiter is exaggeration, and the downside of Uranus is stubborn contrarianism. When planets are in early degrees of new signs, we are like pilgrims landing in unfamiliar territory. We haven’t seen this much power in the sign Aries for a while. Aries brings force, guts, initiative, competitiveness and courage to the table, as well as selfish behavior, ill-considered risks, and foolish machismo. Temper courage with wisdom and seek the advice of experienced people before you bet the farm.
Cardinal T-square
Three planets are approaching 90 degree angles to each other. (See the chart below, with the Cancer Sun at the 4th corner, completing a rare Grand Cross.) Cardinal signs take action. The problem is that we have 3 different agendas here, pulling us in different directions. A special message for the type-A personalities among us: make sure you rest. There is so much excitement in the air, that we tend to get caught up in it and burn ourselves out. Take some time to reflect on why you are doing what you’re doing, and to figure out which responsibilities you can delegate to someone else. Take charge where you must, and let go of it where you can.

Mars enters Virgo
Mars has been in passionate fire sign Leo for the past 8 months, because of the long retrograde. (Normally, Mars spends two months in a sign.) After such a stretch, it may be a relief to move out of this dynamic energy, and into practical Virgo. When Mars is in Virgo, think before you criticize about how you are going to say things. And watch your diet. Our guts tend to be more sensitive– especially if Mars is in Pisces in your birth chart.

Thank you for posting this. Already I am feeling more “bring it on” with people, not normal for this Virgo, notwithstanding my personal planets all in Leo. Being an early Virgo, I am not really sweating Saturn’s dip back into the sign, it’s only another month, and Mars just came in to get my back. What is your opinion though, generally, Mars and Saturn in the same sign. Does the Mars bonus tend to negate the Saturn stress? Ah, you Aries folk…I bet you are looking forward to Jupiter in 2011 huh…

This is very helpful – a succinct and powerful summary. Thank you.
I am looking for a summary of the coming June eclipse. It’s in the same degree as Pluto, right? Does that mean the eclipse energy will have a Plutonian flavor? How many degrees away from an individual’s house cusp or planet make it something that significantly affects that area?
Many thanks!

Lovely article! I have a question though- does having Saturn in the 6th house in Sagittarius at 3 degrees 51 minutes 30 seconds, & Saturn square midheaven at orb/value of 0.11/-39 indicate many health problems and academic and career struggle?

When you say this particular position of planets “favors” pioneers adventurers etc., what do you mean exactly?
5 · Molly · 21 June 2010
I mean good luck and opportunities for those types.

100% spots on in the advice for the A-type personalities in the “Cardinal T-square”-sequence! In a couple of two-three weeks I ran into/launched/created several opportunities all connected to long range goals I´ve held for 10 years or longer now. The growing feeling as Junes closing came near was; “HEY, slow down, don´t take on anything more! Stop and THINK; who am I; what do I really want out of life; can I possibly reach all this goals in my lifetime and how much direct parttakíng could I do/how much do I have to surrender/delegate!?”
Great reading!/Ylva, Sweden
