Monthly horoscope forecast for July 2008, for all signs.

Late again… sorry everyone.

How did you enjoy that Mercury-Uranus square on the 4th of July? Aside from a sick kitty and some cranky moods, we made out ok.

July 5-7

Stevie

Sweet respite. A couple of sweet trines on Sunday infuse the weekend with good vibes. Mercury trine Neptune favors intuition and creative, imaginative leanings. It’s a blending of logic (Mercury) with mysticism (Neptune) that can open doors and move things along. And it’s a great weekend for a party with sweet, social Venus trine exciting Uranus. Uranus favors friendships and group activities. The good vibes continue into Monday as the Virgo Moon touches off the easygoing trines. Get organized, and cross the most important to-do’s off your list now if you can, because the next few days are going to be pretty hairy.

July 8-10

hairy

The Sun opposes Jupiter in the wee hours of Wednesday, disposing people to exaggeration and excessive actions or reactions on Tuesday. Meanwhile the Moon forms a t-square with the upcoming Mercury Pluto opposition. This is a powerful and tense formation that begins early Tuesday morning and lasts until the Moon changes signs at approximately 1:30 p.m. eastern time. This marks a short period of restlessness and irritability, nervousness, resistance, impatience, and confusion about the facts or details that you’re working with. The t-square goes away, but the opposition between neurotic Mercury and controlling, coercive, stubborn, ruthless Pluto remains in force through Wednesday. Oppositions to Pluto carry the potential for healing as well. But still, this looks like an edgy time. If you do need to bring up a difficult issue, be careful.

road rage

As if that wasn’t enough, Mars approaches conjunction with Saturn. This one is trouble. Mars represents energy, irritation, athletes, entrepreneurs. Saturn’s energy contains and holds Mars back, while provoking it as well. In Virgo, little things will set people off. This is “road rage” time. We feel the weight of our limitations and constraints acutely. You’ll hear the sirens blaring, and you’ll see it on the news— explosions, violence, etc. Stay out of the line of fire mid-week. Don’t force the issue; let these few days go by. Save your complaints and criticism, as well as your solutions, for later— starting on Friday, folks are in a much better frame of mind for problem solving. In Virgo, pay attention to diet, nutrition, and health matters, and keep an eye on your pets.

July 11-19

Phew! That was quite a week, wasn’t it. Now that we know what the problems are, we can work on solutions as Mercury forms a sextile— a kiss— first to Saturn and then to Mars, Sunday through Tuesday. A sextile opens up doors of opportunity. The combination of (Mercury in) Cancer and (Mars and Saturn in) Virgo is good for getting organized, good business sense, nursing others, tending to problems with caring yet practical matter-of-factness. Talk it out.

capricorn

A full Moon in Capricorn early Friday morning empties our emotional buckets and brings things to completion. Capricorn is a serious, hardworking sign, indicative of a good time for taking care of important business. Just take care not to take things too seriously as Mercury is approaching opposition to Jupiter. Some folks will be exaggerating things or giving them more (or less) importance than they deserve. Jupiter can mess with our sense of proportion.

Capricorn is an earth sign too— and earth signs call upon us to focus on our physical reality. Our possessions and resources, as well as our health. The period between the full Moon and the next new Moon, also called the waning Moon, is a great time to clear out and detox.1

July 20-26

This looks like the best week of the month for business. Mercury trines Uranus on Monday and Tuesday, opening the door to agreement, collaboration, and flashes of brilliance. Solutions appear— so it’s a great couple of days for a meeting of the minds or a brainstorming session. The answer may come from a surprising source. Unusual, but effective. That’s Uranus.

Wednesday through Friday, Mercury rolls through the last few degrees of Cancer before heading into Leo on Saturday. Ending degrees are good for finishing up, tying up loose ends, and putting the final touches on a project or idea that you have been working on for a while. Next week, something new appears as the vibe changes from sympathetic and nurturing Cancer to creative and bossy Leo.

Meanwhile, Mars trines Jupiter. This high energy, optimistic, lucky combination is one of the most fortunate pairings in astrology. It’s in earth signs Virgo and Capricorn, which rule the tangible, the material, the practical side of life. You may feel it creeping in as early as Wednesday. It grows in power and peaks on Friday evening. It’s still around on Saturday as well— great time for a party or social gathering, and also good for starting a building project or cleaning out the garage.

July 27-31

Aside from an opposition between Venus and Neptune which appears on the 30th and 31st, there’s not much to stand in your way at the end of the month. Venus Neptune can be spaced out and delusional, or artistic, creative, and inspirational. Oppositions can go either way. Be careful with alcohol, drugs and other things you might be sensitive to— Neptune transits heighten our sensitivity.

It’s the dark phase of the Moon, a time of planning and vision, finishing up what you started at the beginning of the current Lunar cycle (July 2), and getting ready to start something new at the time of the new Moon. And this upcoming new Moon is a special one, a Solar Eclipse. So now is the time to reflect on what you have accomplished up to now, and start thinking of what you want to bring into your life between August and the next set of Eclipses in February 2009.

solar eclipse

The August Eclipses have a lot of great potential. According to Bernadette Brady in her book, Predictive Astrology, every Eclipse belongs to a “family” or grouping of Eclipses that spans thousands of years. August’s belong to Saros Series 10 South, which she characterizes like this:

This Saros Series concerns itself with breaking out of a very negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options. A worry that may have been affecting a person will suddenly clear. The solution is shown by the Cosmos and needs to be taken up without too much delay.

You’ll wish you could store a cup of this energy in the pantry. But you can’t, so here’s hoping all of us will find the best way to make the most of it!
