Molly's Astrology for January 2011
Jupiter conjunct Uranus
As Jupiter conjoins Uranus in the ending degrees of Pisces in early January, we finish up something old and prepare for something new. Breakthroughs and strokes of luck are likely with this combination, especially if you work it— circulate, share creative ideas, and think “outside the box”. Jupiter Uranus awakens intuition, urges for independence, and perhaps a tendency to exaggerate. It paves the way for you to extricate yourself from a tense or confining situation. It favors creative thinkers, inventors, and technophiles. The conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus fades in power from this point forward, but its positive potentials can still be put to good use when Mars reawakens the pairing January 10-13, and when the Full Moon in gentle Cancer hits it on the 19th.
Jupiter enters Aries
Jupiter visited Aries for a few months in 2010, but then moved back into Pisces. On January 22, the growth vibe returns to Aries, sign of enthusiasm, leadership, initiative, and straightforward honesty. This benefits entrepreneurs and startups, athletes, and those who work with iron, steel, or other metals. On the downside, Jupiter in Aries is impatient, impulsive and foolhardy. Remember to look before you leap.
Jupiter square the Nodes
The Nodes are about how we connect with others, a sense of fellowship and purpose, or lack thereof. As Jupiter in Aries squares the North Node in Capricorn at the end of the month, putting yourself first, or making your desires (Aries) a higher priority than your responsibilities (Capricorn) can end up costing you. Stay focused on your commitments and on the bigger picture. Make sure your actions and initiatives support your goals, not undermine them.
January 2-4, Venus forms an easygoing trine to Jupiter and Uranus. You can move relationships to a new level by letting go of unnecessary baggage. These are excellent days for socializing, or dealing with financial matters such as year end accounting— Mercury will be retrograde in April, and that will make tax season a little extra nuts. Get your return done early if you can.
January 9-13 may be the best time of the month to take action. An abundance of brilliant, progressive ideas are flying around. Take notes! But don’t get so wrapped up in your own brilliance that you forget to check in with others.

Thanks for the forecast, Molly! I ended up getting an offer for a new job last week- must have been the luck you predicted. I am starting that job on the 21st- very good with the honest and straightforward Aries :)

Molly,
Any feedback for 1/28/11? I didn’t see the end of the month on your forecast. Any info would be helpful.
Thanks,

Hi Molly- have you heard about the wobbling earth and how this changes our sun signs? Wondering what this means for astrology being that it is a fact in astronomy…what effects does this has on natal charts from the past, now and going forward? Do the calculations change, do previously done charts need to be redone?

I really appreciate your time in addressing this because as an astrology it has me questioning myself in what/how to do charts in the future (and the ones I’ve done in the past…:o( )

TinaMarie – Astrologers know about this phenomenon. It is called precession. Some jackass astronomer assumed astrologers do not understand the stars and planets. The fact is, the Western Zodiac does not use the position of the constellations as its frame of reverence, but the solstices and equinoxes. There is a system that uses the sidereal Zodiac, or the position of the constellations as a frame of reference. You are free to use whichever system calls to you. But your sign has not changed.
