Molly's (quickie) Astrology for February 2010
Chiron conjoins Neptune
Chiron represents a struggle that we must go through to achieve a breakthrough, and our capacity to understand and help others with the same struggles. Neptune represents our fears and sensitivities, and the process of purification. These are both planets with a mystical, spiritual bent. The conjunction is in force through the middle of February. It appears in Aquarius, sign of groups and communities, technology, science, broadcasting. In the physical body, Aquarius governs the circulatory system, ankles, and nervous system.
Mars is still retrograde
Mars retrograde is a low energy time when it’s appropriate to pull back, build up our reserves, and reinforce our weak spots. In early February, Mars forms a sextile, an angle of opportunity, with Saturn. Both planets are retrograde, and they are moving at close enough to the same rate of speed to keep them in aspect until mid March. This is highly unusual! Mars governs action and activity. Saturn represents rules, structures, business, and responsibilities. Saturn is now in Libra, sign of relationships. Sounds like time to mend fences and strengthen existing partnerships and relationships, build trust. It will probably take some time and commitment. The sextile favors business, and benefits anyone who is willing to work hard toward a well defined goal.
Transiting Yods
We see a series of 3 transiting yods this month. A yod is two planets in a sextile with a third planet at a 150° angle to both of them. Yods are like basketball– finesse and adaptability are the keys to getting ahead in this rapidly changing game. Focus wins the game, not rigidity nor brute strength. February 8-12’s yod features Mars at the apex. Remember, Mars is retrograde– the aggressor loses the fight. Your actions can be successful, but you must focus and be ready for the situation to shift. The 12-14th, a Venus apex yod, calling for flexibility in social situations, negotiations and relationships. A third yod appears Feb 28 – March 2 as Mercury in Pisces forms an inconjunct to Mars and Saturn. This is mental/verbal basketball that throws confusion into new, unfamiliar ideas and endeavors that you are trying to launch. Stay on your toes, as the logistics are subject to change.

Hi Molly, I ran into your blog while searching for info on Chiron transit Venus. At my solar return this month I will have Transiting Chiron,Mercury, and Neptune conjunct my natal Venus. Also will have Jupiter in an exact conjunction to my Sun. The last few years have been really tough with Saturn using me as a chew toy. I’m a little nervous with all this going on, but also hopeful it will all be good. Is the Chiron transiting conjunct Venus magnified because it is on my Solar Return? What have you seen with Chiron transiting Venus.

Hi Molly,
Is Mars retro to blame for all Crapitola going down the past 2 weeks?? Friend’s car smashed (while parked), work SUPER busy & stressful, everything’s hard like it’s fighting back, & a lot of health issues (my uncle got his 2-6 months to live summons). So crazy and I’m so tired…is that why it’s all hitting the fan?
Thanks! G

Gabrielle, I’m so sorry about your uncle. Sometimes it all hits the fan at once. Maybe it’s Mars, probably Mars plus something else going on. It usually takes more than one thing to open the crapgates.
