Molly's Astrology for December 2007
Sorry this comes so late. I have been short on time this week.
For those of you who have e-mailed me or repeatedly checked for this forecast, I invite you to check out my new 2008 calendar. Your purchase keeps me going, and it keeps the monthly forecasts for 2008 at your fingertips for moments like these when I don’t get them up in time. It’s only $12 to download— and you’ll never be left hanging in 2008.
Here’s the December forecast from my 2007 calendar. I’ll add to it when I have time.
Mars is retrograde until the end of January. Now is the time to work out the details and actions of something that will begin after the retrograde period ends. Mars represents strength— and this is time to patiently gather your strength and reinforce your position, not to burn up your reserves.
Jupiter conjunct Pluto, December 1-11. Jupiter means “lots of, and Pluto symbolizes power, secrets, intense connections, and healing. As we wind down the old year and prepare for 2008, the energy of this transit assists you in clearing objects, situations and relationships which hold you back from growing and learning. Forgiveness is key with Pluto—forgive and let go of stale or yucky energy to make room for healthy new connections that make you feel alive.
Jupiter enters Capricorn for the first time since early 1997, having been in exuberant Sagittarius since late last year. Jupiter in Sag was a period of idealistic, enthusiastic growth having to do with our philosophy and world view. Capricorn dares us to put our money where our mouth is in the coming year, to come up with real-world applications to put our theories and opinions to the test.
Best Days
December 7-8, Mars sextile Saturn. Patience and discipline help you achieve your goals.
December 11-12, Venus trine Mars, sextile Saturn. Strengthen and stabilize relationships by helping others or asking for help.
December 19-20, Mercury conjunct Jupiter and Pluto. Communicate powerful ideas with humor.
Hot-Spots
December 22-24, Mercury and Sun oppose retrograde Mars. Tempers flare, buried anger may erupt. People are more argumentative than usual.
New Moon December 9 at 17 Sagittarius
Full Moon December 23 at 01 Cancer

Dear Molly,
How can this Pluto- Jupiter conjunction in late Sag affect me, with a Sun in 27º Virgo? Everybody says it’ll be a powerful positive time, but for me it will be a square! Any comment?
Love,
Sonia

Squares can be positive too, Sonia. But they are not easy. Pluto square your Sun is a major, once in a lifetime, life changing transit. I suggest you read up on that one, or have a reading. It’s too big for me to get into in the comments.
A Jupiter square can be very productive too, but it’s a warning sign not to go overboard.
The Jupiter-Pluto transit itself is symbolic of the end of an old cycle (which began in late ’94) and the beginning of a new one.

Molly,
My partner just asked me to marry him on 8/8/8.
I wonder if you can tell if it it’s at least
a semi-good day for unions?

Molly,
I have pluto, uranus, mars and moon conjunct in Virgo in my fourth house. I was born December 23, 1964 in St Boniface Manitoba Canada at 4:47pm. With pluto and jupiter entering Capricorn and a full moon conjuncting my ascendant on the 23rd…it would appear that the next year may be significant somehow. Have I got this right – it sounds like alot.
Do you have any thoughts? I don’t usually receive this much impact – its a little unnerving.
Thank you,
Mandie

Hi Molly – I’m curious about your take on the nodes’ changing signs. Any plans to do an article – even a short one – on that?

Hey Molly,
I’ve just come across your website today and spent several hours on it already, in short, addiction has formed already.
I was reading through December’s forcast and was wondering… a friend of mine mentioned the other day when I was in a panic/rut/ready to give up on my job moment that because of the Mars retrograde the last couple months… it’s been a restless panicky kind of time for a lot of people… do retrogrades usually indicate a cool your jets period of time? Do certain planets mean easing off in certain areas?
((I know that’s a mouthful… pen-full… um… keyboard full?)
thanks doll, I’ve loved the site and am excited about a possible future reading

Hi Elaine— yes, Mars retrograde is not a time to expect “full steam ahead” activity, and a time when the aggressor loses the fight. So it is a good time to back off and cool your jets.
