Hi Louise— Venus won’t be retrograde until next year.
3 · Tricia · 25 July 2006
Hi Molly,
I am involved in a serious relationship I am hoping the retrograde didn’t effect my relationship. I am a scorpio and my boyfriend is a Pisces. Please advise since we are not talking!
4 · Molly · 25 July 2006
Tricia—
It must be something else, because Venus won’t be retrograde until next year. 2007.
Sorry. Good luck.

Hi Molly,
I am born with Venus retrograde in Aquarius w/Aquarius Sun. I sometimes feel like my love button is broken even with close family members. How does transiting Venus retro effect a natal Venus retro?6 · Molly · 31 July 2006
Hi Dave,
I have heard that people with the natal retrograde fare better during the retrograde period. (which, just let me say again to avoid any misunderstanding, is NEXT YEAR. 2007.)
I have Mercury retrograde natally, and although I’m subject to the same snafu’s, I do tend to make out okay. I wouldn’t call it dramatic, magical, or “wow, isn’t this great!” But things I do tend to turn out okay.
It would be a good time to have a closer look at that “love button” and see about fixing it. You might find it’s not broken, it’s just wired differently than most people’s. Venus in Aquarius is unconventional and rebellious; her retrograde condition underscores that idea. With Neptune transiting Aquarius now, you find yourself wanting to break the habit of maybe being too unconventional for your own good, rebelling for rebellion’s sake. You want to tear down some walls and make connections. It’s a good time to do so. Good luck, Dave.
But why wait for Venus retro? It’s still almost a year away.

Hi Molly,
This Venus rx, from 3 Virgo to 16 Leo….I understand this will effect those with planets in the last quadrant or so of fixed signs, and the first couple degrees of mutable signs……I have somewhat of a grand cross in the fixed signs at 21-22 degrees….Sun/Scorp 2nd, Moon/taurus 8th, Uranus Leo 11th, and Chiron Aquarius 5th….plus my Pluto is at 6 Virgo 11th…conjunct the Stationary rx. I am a scorpio, and next months new moon is conjunct my Uranus….so I am anticipating this rx to be endings…“letting go of the past”….with new beginnings starting at the new moon next month?
16 · Molly · 26 July 2007
Hi Suzanne— I’m not sure where you get “endings” from a new Moon in your 11th conjunct Uranus. I think that’s just as likely to bring new beginnings as any new Moon! Best of luck,
17 · Carol · 26 July 2007
Hi Molly,
This Venus rx has wreaked havoc on the love life of my daughters. But they came home with a puppy yesterday, and now all seems to be healing. Puppy love. How does it look for finding apartments that take puppies?
18 · Diane · 30 July 2007
Hi Molly,
My daughter, who will be 16 on 8/6 is a Leo (13 degree sun) with a natal RX Venus in Virgo; Will this help her sort out her values or cause more confusion?
19 · Molly · 31 July 2007
Carol,
Congrats on your new canine family member. I’m afraid it never looks good for apartments taking puppies. Be prepared to shell out a big security deposit!
Diane, it could do both. Probably more on the confusion side at first, and the helping to sort out values side after the retrograde. People who were born with a retrograde in some ways are more “in their groove” during the transiting retrograde. But they are still subject to the same snafu’s as every one else.
Blessings!

Hi Molly,
I met my current boyfriend during the last Venus Retro. We met Jan 14, 2006 when a mutual friend invited us both for a dinner gathering at a restaurant. I got to know him better the following week because he offered to help me when our friend mentioned to him my computer crashed. We communicated through email over the next couple weeks and it only became romantic when he invited me out and held my hand on Feb. 11, a week after Venus turned direct. But wasn’t even a real date and we had our first kiss almost two weeks later.
I’ve read that it’s not a good idea to start a relationship during Venus retro but does it count if you met but only started dating after Venus started moving forward? It wasn’t planned that way, I just realized it worked out that way after I found out it helps to review the last retro cycle to prepare for the current one.
21 · Molly · 23 August 2007
Elen,
Venus messes with our perceptions of value. When you established your relationship, it was over, right? And you’re together now, and it works, right? So what’s the question?
22 · Elen (6/19/75, 5:05pm, Wash, DC) · 24 August 2007
Once we started ‘dating’, Venus had turned direct. Feb. 11 (2006) was the first time we hung out alone own when he asked if I wanted to go to the mall but it kind of turned into a date since he asked if I wanted to have dinner and then started holding my hand – he said to help me cross the street since it was snowing. I even got a headache that prevented us from hanging out after dinner. Valentines Day was a few days later and the same friend who introduced us the previous month invited us both (separately) to another dinner with the same group of people. The next time we hung out after V-day and finally kissed was Feb. 23 and have been together ever since but it has been hard due to his inability to put up bounderies with his family and what I feel to be them taking advantage of him.
I was just thinking that so far this current phase has brought up issues that have upset me over the past year related to his family and we might go our separate ways or, move closer. My initial question was related to meeting during a Venus retro but not actually becoming romantically involved until after Venus turned direct. Do you think the problems we’ve had are caused by meeting during the last Venus retro cycle even though we were only friends up until Venus turned direct? I have my Venus at 13 Leo and my MC at 24 Leo so Saturn has been hassling me (Pluto too since I am a Gemini 27 Sun but that’s too much to talk about here!). Plus, he’s a Virgo with Leo Rising so there’s Saturn again and I think his family stuff was due to the Saturn/Neptune opposition but now we have Saturn in Virgo and the eclipses to look forward to.
23 · Molly · 24 August 2007
Elen,
Venus retrograde brings up stuff in relationships regardless-- whether it began during Venus rx or close to it, or not at all. It doesn't matter It’s just this wacky time. It’s just weird for relationships. It just is. Read the comments from before, if you aren’t convinced. Sometimes you just have to wait for the weirdness to pass. Honor your feelings, but keep it in perspective. Is this a dealbreaker, or just a bump in the road?
24 · Molly · 24 August 2007
p.s. Elen, it kind of sounds like you’re spookin’ yourself with the astrology. This Venus retro might be a good time to get a deeper understanding of what you’re going through on your own.. namely the Pluto opposite your Sun which is no small affair. If you can get hold of it, read up on Pluto in a book called the Gods of Change by Howard Sasportas. Or you can to on node-o-rama and ask the members what it was like going through a Pluto transit to a Gemini Sun. That may help you get a more concrete understanding of it. It’s crucially important that you understand yourself right now. Overfocusing on the relationship astrology will just confuse your mind right now.
25 · Elen · 29 August 2007
Yeah. I know the Pluto opposition is a much bigger event. I checked out node-o-rama and will continue to do so.
Thanks Molly!!

Question re Venus Rx, 2007,
I have a friend who is completely unfaithful to everyone he intimately encounters, this month he has been dedicated beyond belief, entirely during this venus rx period. Will his tune change when venus returns to direct motion, will he become his “old self” once again? it has been very exceptional and hard to believe he’s moving in this direction when he’s never been there before.
27 · Molly · 4 September 2007
Cammy, sounds like you might be right about that. But time will tell.
28 · Uncle Hannah S-Q · 9 September 2007
WowMom,
I’m totally glad that Venus RX was over, and yet—well it was INTERESTING, not necessarily all bad but it was annoying enough to make me wish it was over. Heheh.
I figured since it’s over now I could share a few Venus Rx 2007 stories, just for the record:
*After many, many years, got a consultation with an orthodontist to get my bite fixed (malocclusion), which had not been totally fixed from my first round with braces when I was 14. It was timely, but it was EXPENSIVE…$5,600 which we’ll have to pay off monthly for a while. Ouch. If I don’t do it, however, I may lose one or two teeth to the cross bite among other problems.
*Became obsessed with trying NutriSystem, only to freak out about it after 2 days—then I had almost 300 dollars worth of crappy food left, which I am slowly picking through.
*After several months of trying to find various artistic opportunities in teaching or showing artwork, I met with a woman and I’m now going to teach my first art class in 2 years since having my baby. Furthermore, I am having people approach me about it—whereas before I would ask and poke at people and call places and no one needed an art teacher or it was too expensive to show work or whatnot. Unfortunately, I am a tad confused about the timing and conflict of certain artistic opportunities. Well, I won’t go into too much detail with that here, but anyway.
* My husband’s schedule was very busy and hardly saw him and UGH hardly had an orgasm during that time. The day the retro ended we had amaaazing s-e-x. hehee.
*My sister announced that she is getting married to her long-time boyfriend. For me this was mixed news because well…long story short…I’ve had a hard time not worrying about her relationship with this man, but I finally had the chance through therapy and homeopathy and a lot of other things to come to grips with letting go of worrying about my sister. I am trying to redefine things and trust her decision making process, regardless of what happens. In the end—she’s my sister and that’s that. I just want her to be happy but I have to let her do what she needs to do and not be so tied up in it. Our Venuses are conjunct (She’s an Aquarius in the 2nd house with Venus in Aries 3rd house and I’m an Aries in the 3rd house with Venus in Aquarius in the 2nd house).
*We booked a hotel room for our trip next month and got charged twice, but then it looks like they may have accidentally credited us 500 dollars, too. Hrm. heheh…
*My car had some issues—had to get some things done, thankfully minor (well, at least for now) which set us back a few hundred dollars. I also had a tire blow out on the road—thankfully I was on a city street and not a highway and wasn’t going very fast. The tire was BALD with the metal showing. I had no idea.
*I spent too d*mned much money after having gotten a credit card for the first time (I really should know better but I’m learning how to handle money). I then lowered the limit of the credit card and decided to take an “Investing for Women” class, which started a week ago.
I know I’m forgetting a bunch of things, but that’s OK. Thanks for wading through this list of schtuff. I feel broke yet hopeful.
Lots of Love to Y’all…

Hi Molly, I got breast implants in August, while I was taking a break from astrology, and of course it was during Venus Retrograde, which I didn’t find out til afterward. Sure enough, I’m not happy with the results (I was too conservative at the last minute and didn’t go to the size originally planned). I will be getting them redone but don’t want to make another mistake like that. Aside from not doing it during V. Retrograde, any other scheduling advice? Thank you so much.
30 · Molly · 2 October 2007
That’s terrible! Check out my surgery date guidelines when you’re ready to choose another date. You can ask me for help too. I can’t imagine scheduling surgery without the planets.
31 · polly · 22 October 2007
Hi Molly, referring to my redo for breast implants, I can schedule the surgery for after December sometime. I would like to do between January-April 2008. My birth information is: 6/20/57, born Cleveland Ohio, 9:15 p.m. Thank you so much Molly. I am confused with all the specifics I need to look for.
32 · Crystal · 27 October 2007
I just found your site and am really enjoying looking around. Not to be picky, but the dates listed for the Venus rx are July 27th – Sept 8…. but you also said it lasts around 6 weeks? Could you clarify? I kept thinking there had to be something going on around then, but I’m still pretty new to astrology and other than my Saturn return couldn’t find anything (not that it wasn’t big enough). I decided to leave my husband Sept 6th, and followed through on Sept 7th. But I had first decided about 6 weeks before that and he talked me out of it. Both times it was a real “That’s it, not another day, all of a sudden I’ve got to stop putting it off and just know that it’s the right thing to do” type of thing. It sounds like Venus rx to me? Which is why I was curious about the dates. Although I did read the part about not beginning or ending a relationship during that time :) I’m still very sure of my decision though.
33 · Molly · 29 October 2007
July 27 – 31 is 5 days. August – 31 days, 8 days in September adds up to 44 days, that’s a little over six weeks.
I’m sorry it didn’t work out with your husband. That sounds very painful. Best of luck to you….

I am getting married june 2012 during venus retro! I am not a follower of astrology, but came across this by a friend? Should I worry about something? I read it’s an unfavorable time for parties, weddings etc…but don’t really understand as to why? Please clarify
